In this blog, I would like to explore topics related to business branding, marketing, sales, and other challenges growing and established businesses face. In sharing my experiences with you, I hope to shorten your learning curve as you grow your business and provide helpful tools to help you grow or thrive. Branding and Marketing
What is branding and marketing? You may not be able to define each off the top of your head, but if you’re an entrepreneur or small business owner, chances are you have implemented one or both in your business. Think of branding as an indirect way of communicating your core values and characteristics. Think of your favorite clothing brand. What kind of feelings does it inspire? How do you feel when you think of this brand? Now think of the German automaker that was recently in the news, what kind of feelings does their brand currently inspire? How will their brand be affected by the news in months and years to come?
Marketing on the other hand, are the actions you take to place your product or service in front of your target audience. It is the process by which you engage and communicate with your market. Examples of marketing include: Facebook ads, direct mail, email campaigns, trade shows, cold calling, newsletters, and many more.
Who am I to be giving branding and marketing advice? I am certainly not claiming to be an authority on the subject! Before opening up Solid Stitch Embroidery, I owned and operated a direct-to-consumer business for 11 years. I have studied branding and marketing over many years. Being a teacher by profession, I am excited to share what I learned and continue to learn with you. My goal is to assist you and bring something of value to you, to help you take steps to improve your brand, marketing and your growth efforts. My mission is to continue to learn and grow, and pass valuable information onto you.
